BMW X5 M60e
The brand’s first SAV

The BMW X5 M60e impresses with its aesthetic and technological innovation, featuring an advanced plug in hybrid powertrain. Driving pleasure is elevated by traction and chassis control systems developed for the Neue Klasse.
The innovative BMW X5 (the brand’s first model to feature five types of powertrains) is setting trends and shaping the future with an avant-garde style, boasting state of the art design and technology. The all electric model stands out thanks to the BMW eDrive system, delivering extended range (up to 845 kilometers or 525 miles), 800V fast charging, and convenient bidirectional charging. This is made possible by new 120 millimeter tall cylindrical cells within the high voltage battery a technology debuting in this model.
Interior
The cabin makes a striking impression with its defined structures and uncluttered surfaces. It is both natural and innovative. It combines a welcoming atmosphere with a digital user experience, creating a harmonious sense of spaciousness while providing subtle, serene support for the classic driver focused layout. Its visual and tactile quality is further enhanced by decorative surfaces crafted from materials such as slate and glass, lending the interior a sophisticated atmosphere.
Exterior
Its muscular appearance embodies the confidence of its leading position in the SAV (Sport Activity Vehicle) segment, making it a key model for the brand. It is characterized by an upright front end, a vertically aligned BMW “Iconic Glow” grille, and new double X light signatures that debut on current models. The side profile is striking, thanks to innovative integrated handles (“BMW Winglets”) that allow the electric doors to be opened with a gentle touch.
Power
The electric and plug in hybrid versions will be available in early 2027 and are as follows:
iX5 60 xDrive (578 CV)
It features two electric motors a 249 hp motor at the front and a 329 hp motor at the rear. The front motor is asynchronous, while the rear is a wound rotor synchronous motor (it has no magnets in the rotor). The NCM type battery has a net capacity of 141 kWh and supports DC charging at up to 460 kW. Its WLTP certified range is approximately 845 kilometers.
X5 50e xDrive (489 CV).
A plug-in hybrid featuring a 313 hp six-cylinder gasoline engine and a 197 hp electric motor. The latter is powered by a 22.1 kWh battery (18.7 kWh usable capacity) that can be recharged via AC at 11 kW; DC charging is not available. The certified electric range is 102 kilometers.
X5 M60e xDrive (612 CV)
A plug-in hybrid sharing the same electric power train components as the X5 50e xDrive (197 hp/280 Nm motor and 22.1 kWh battery) but equipped with a more powerful 426 hp gasoline engine (though still a 3.0 liter six cylinder unit). This version has an electric range of 98 km.
Technology
The key characteristics of the Neue Klasse electric, digital, and circular combine to introduce a fourth dimension. Special lighting and sound effects, enabled by BMW iDrive technology, enhance the intuitive digital user experience. The BMW Panoramic iDrive display and operating system based on BMW Operating System X comprise a free-form central display, the 3D BMW Head-Up Display, a passenger display (available as an option), and a panoramic view with a projection surface spanning the width of the windshield, alongside a multifunction steering wheel. Additionally, the vehicle features Adaptive Chassis Control Professional and an anti-roll stabilization system that ensures maximum ride comfort. It also incorporates BMW Symbiotic Drive offering intelligent assistance tailored to individual driving styles as well as advanced Level 2 assistance systems and active safety functions designed for seamless interaction between assistance systems and human driving.
With its commanding presence and the perfect symbiosis of comfort and driving pleasure, the BMW X5 became a global sales success.
